Be our new singer!

We’re a rock covers & party band looking for a new singer and front person. If you would like to sing with us please get in touch.

Creak are a high energy covers band that have been together for over 20 years. The present line up have been working together for almost ten years. With our last singer moving on to pastures new, we are looking for a new member of the band who can be our lead singer and front person.

 

We rehearse usually a couple of times a month in West London – currenly Bush studios, and we’ll throw in additional rehearsals as needed ahead of a gig. We’ll play anywhere so long as everyone is free (see below). In the past we’ve played throughout London as well as Austria, Ukraine and were in final preparations for a gig in Japan when covid put and end to travel. We’ve recorded in a few studios over the years including a session at The Farm.

We have our own PA when playing live so we can control most of our sound, most importantly for monitors. 

 

The band all have (or in one case – had) full time jobs, so playing in the band is never going to be a full-time gig, and we are committed to providing high-quality covers for parties of all kinds. We’re all experienced have spent many years playing in different kinds of bands. There is nothing we like more than seeing a few hundred people jumping up and down and singing along. 

 

The band are:

• Vladi – guitars

  • Vladi has been in Creak for more than 16 years and is an accomplished and energetic guitarist, able to inject some energy into any song. He’s recently moved from carting around a couple of valve amps to a full modelling system;

  • Vladi is the Chief Commercial Officer of a software company

• Jon – drums

  • Jon joined Creak to play a gig in Ukraine in 2011 and has stayed ever since. Jon is the heart of the band, providing a clear and consistent beat for the rest of the band to work from;

  • Jon is the VP of Sales for a software company;

• Chris – keyboards, guitar and backing vocals

  • Chris provides the main harmonic backing for the band and is very proactive in finding and rehearsing new songs. He uses a Roland RD2000 and a Gibson SJ200;

  • Chris is Consultant and Clinical Director in the NHS;

• Pete – bass and backing vocals

  • Pete is a very experienced bass player who joined Creak just after Vladi, He likes to quietly provide a rhythmic and harmonic bass for the band and uses a vocal harmoniser to add addition backing vocals as needed;

  • Pete recently stepped down as Chief Operating Officer for a barristers’ chambers.

 

Our youngest member is in his 40s and the eldest in his 60s. You can guess who is who when you meet us.

We don’t have a very fixed view of who we would like as our new singer. So long as you enjoy the music and get on with us all, we will be very happy! Ideally you will be able to help with getting the PA set up as needed - and certainly have a good idea of how to best present your voice for gigs.

 

We like to play songs that our crowd will know and sing along to. We’re not too hung-up on genres or eras – just good music that our audience will enjoy, as well as singing and dancing along. We like to inject new songs regularly.
